Overview
ShopCart is a browser extension that helps you save and organize Amazon products into custom lists. This privacy policy explains how ShopCart handles your data.
Data Collection
What We Collect
ShopCart collects and stores the following information locally on your device:
- Product Information: When you save a product, we store:
- Product title
- Price (as displayed)
- Product image URL
- Product page URL
- Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN)
- Amazon domain (e.g., amazon.com, amazon.co.uk)
- Timestamp of when you saved the item
- Quantity (when saving from cart)
- List Information:
- List names you create
- Which list is currently active
What We Do NOT Collect
- Personal information (name, email, address)
- Amazon account information
- Browsing history
- Payment information
- Cookies or tracking data
- Analytics or usage data
Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API
(chrome.storage.local). Your data:
- Never leaves your browser
- Is not transmitted to any external servers
- Is not shared with third parties
- Is not accessible to ShopCart developers
Data Sharing
We do not share any data with third parties. ShopCart operates entirely offline and locally.
Data Export & Deletion
Export Your Data
You can export all your saved lists at any time:
- Open the ShopCart Manager page
- Click "Export" in the sidebar
- Choose "Current list" or "All lists"
- Your data is downloaded as a JSON file
Delete Your Data
You can delete all your data at any time:
- Open the ShopCart popup
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to "Danger Zone"
- Click "Clear All Data"
- Confirm the deletion
Alternatively, uninstalling the extension will remove all stored data.
Permissions
ShopCart requires certain browser permissions to function. Here's why:

Third-Party Services

ShopCart does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 years of age.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
